dorner. abc's cecilia vega has been covering the story all night. and joins us now this morning with the very latest. good morning, cecilia. >> reporter: elizabeth, good morning. -pt dorner lasted ten, long days. the heart of that search and now likely its finale, happening right here in this ski resort town outside of los angeles. sources tell abc news, a charred body was found in a burned-down house where a shoot-out yesterday took place with police. now, authorities are looking to forensic evidence to confirm that body belongs to christopher dorner. after an all-day shoot-out filled with drama -- the week-long international manhunt for christopher dorner ended overnight in a blazing inferno and a hail of gunfire. human remains of a body. they'll have to use forensic testing to positively i.d. exactly who the body is but they do believe it's christopher dorner. sources tell cbs news christopher dorner is inside this bushed out cabin. police cannot yet identify the body, but they do believe dorner was inside when the cabin caught fire. police had the cabin surrounded at the time. >> and there's no indication at all that he escaped during the fire. >> we believe he's still inside the cabin, yes. >> reporter: the police picked up his trail tuesday after someone reported being carjacked. >> mr. dorner jumped out in front of my truck, and he stopped me at gunpoint. he said i don't want to hurt you. he said get out, walk up the road, and take your dog with you. cbs reporter carter evens captured the fire fight on his cell phone camera. two police officers were hit. one is now dead. the other wounded. officials focused their search on the big bear area after the police found his pickup truck burning in the woods here. police went door to door searching cabins for the suspect,
